Information on this site is educational
Our product pages, guides, quiz results, and customer support messages are for general education and shopping help. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional, and reading them does not create a professional relationship of any kind. Our support team cannot give medical advice. Product suggestions from our Find Your Routine quiz are general and are based only on the answers you choose.
Skin care and cosmetic products
Our skin care products are cosmetics. We describe them by how skin looks and feels, such as skin that feels soft, comfortable, or refreshed.

Patch testing and safe use
Any skin care product, even a gentle one, can bother some people. Please follow the directions and cautions on each label, and add new products one at a time so you can tell how your skin responds.
Patch test before first use: apply a small amount to the inside of your forearm and wait 24 hours. Stop use and rinse if irritation occurs. For external use only. Avoid contact with eyes.
For sunscreen products, read and follow the label, use as directed, reapply at least every 2 hours, and limit sun exposure. Sunscreen is one part of sun protection, along with shade and clothing.
Ingredients and allergens
You are responsible for checking that a product is right for you. Before you buy, and again before you use it, read the ingredient list, directions, and warnings on the product page and on the package. Formulas can change, so the label on the product you receive is the final source. If you have an allergy or sensitivity, or you are not sure about an ingredient, talk with a qualified healthcare professional first, or skip the product. We cannot know your personal health history, so we cannot tell you whether a product is right for you.
Pregnancy, nursing, and medication
If you are pregnant, nursing, or trying to conceive, talk with your healthcare professional before you start any new skin care product, including products with active ingredients such as retinol or salicylic acid.
If you take medication or have a medical condition, check with your healthcare professional before you start a new product. Do not stop or change a medication because of anything you read on this site.
Keep all products out of reach of children.
Results vary
Skin, bodies, and routines differ, and so do results. We do not promise any particular outcome from any product, guide, or routine. Photos and descriptions are meant to help you shop, not to predict how a product will work for you.
Reactions and emergencies
If a skin care product causes irritation, stop using it and rinse with water. If a reaction is severe, painful, lasts, or gets worse, talk with a healthcare professional. You can also report a serious reaction to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration through its MedWatch program, and please tell us through our contact form so we can note the concern.
Our website and customer support team are not an emergency service. If you think you or someone else is having a medical emergency, such as trouble breathing, swelling of the face or throat, or a severe allergic reaction, call 911 or your local emergency number right away. If someone has swallowed too much of a product, or a child has swallowed any of it, call Poison Help at 1-800-222-1222.
